If you find that you are having trouble with another user, we prefer that you resolve your issue with that user in private. However, if you feel that you cannot approach the user in question on your own, the forum staff is more than willing to help both of you (or all of you, if there's more than two users involved) find a way to set aside your differences.
We also encourage you to come to us if you believe that somebody is in violation of one or more of our forum rules. As the forum staff, we prefer to deal with that ourselves, so please don't take it upon yourself to point out that the person is wrong (which, more often than not, only starts arguments that will get more people in trouble). Instead, send one of the Administrators or Moderators a Personal Message with the following information:
Subject:
Put a brief description (no more than three or four words, if possible) in the subject heading of your PM. Do not use one-word subjects like "Issue," "Question," "Violation," et cetera. This will help us keep better track of the messages.
Time:
The time that the issue/violation occurred.
Board:
The board in which the issue/violation occurred.
Topic:
The thread in which the issue/violation occurred.
Link:
Post the link to the post in question. This is for the convenience of the staff--they won't have to go searching for the post you're reporting, thus allowing them to deal with the issue quickly and effectively.
Description:
A brief description of the incident. If you think that the user will attempt to delete his or her post before a staff member can get to it, you may include a screen shot.
Remember, folks, we're here to help you.
Thanks,
-The TiaRPF Staff
